Who makes the best fuel pressure gauge? I don't see to many choices on the web sites. It seems to me after reading the posts about the lift pump problems, a FPG should be the second guage in our trucks. Don't want to have to pay for a VP44!

If you want to go analog, Westach can supply a combo dual fuel pressure gauge like I use - it displays both pre and post filter pressure, uses only one hole in a gauge pod and matches the Westach combo EGT/boost gauge.

go with dual sensors

I have the Westach. I doubt it is the "best" but it works good. I would recomend going with pre and post filter sensors so you can monitor the fuel filter condition. It is worth the extra work.

I like the display on the Dakota Digital better than anything else I have seen!

They are an LED type display and don't depend on any backlightin

All the other digital gauges appear to be LCD type displays

Also, I talked to a Dakota Digital marketing type, and he said they are looking at our market(turbo diesel) with the idea of offering more products for us.

They recently added round gauges to accomidate the pillar and dash top mounts.

I suggested adding a 0-50psi boost gauge. They are already developing a sending unit for that. They haven't been happy with the accuracy yet.

Autometer

I have been conversing with Autometers Brett Littlefield in the R & D Department. Autometer has recognizes the fact that they are behind the power curve with the Turbo Diesel crowd and are really working to fix that problem.

In the May/June 2002 timeframe Autometer is releasing a 0-60psi, 270-degree sweep fuel pressure gauge in multiple designs. This will be an electrical gauge and NOT a mechanical gauge.

I am waiting on mine to finish my gauge requirements. Then I can add my Carter pusher pump and 1/2 fuel lines!!!

I have two FP gauges... a SPA ( purchased from Nowel at http://www.performancediesel.bigstep.com/category.html?UCIDs=578092|579181 )and an Autometer Ultralite 0-15 mech gauge that bought from Summit racing. Like 'em both but if I had to choose one, it would be the SPA. The SPA gauges are very unique, they have a progamable feature that allows the user to select preset lows, display refresh rates, etc. and are worth the money if you like digital gauges.

I forgot to mention that the Dakota Digital gauges can be set for a low or high warning output to a light or horn.

Their rectangular gauges can be selected in three diff display colors

They automatically dim when your lights are switched on.
