Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Check valve in LP???

I have a Di pricol fuel pressure gauge and I believe the instructions say to mount the isolator on the engine so they vibrate together. However after much searching on the TDR I can only find photos of isolators mounted on the firewall and various other places but none on the engine. Is engine mounting the isolator not the best and if not is the firewall a preferred location.

Thanks in advance,

Rick

I wondered about that too when I mounted mine. But the firewall was an easier place to mount to, so it went there. I've had it like that for a year with no problems.

I made a bracket and used the brake master cylinder mounting studs (extra long bolts already there)... . attached my Isolator just beneath and slightly to the passengers side of the master cyl.

No problems with it - the gauge reads really steady - I'm using the DiPricol 0-30psi gauge.

I have a Westach that the bozo mechanics first mounted on the engine despite my insistence they not do it. I had erratic readings all the time. After 2 days I removed it from the engine and it has worked fine for over 2 yrs. now. I don't think the sending unit likes the constant vibration. My . 02

I saw the bracket on the master cylinder a couple days ago and decided to go that route as well. I did make the bracket with an ear on it that comes off horizontally right next to the brake resevoir so the isolator will be mounted horizontal instead of vertical which is the way the instructions read. Also the instructions say to mount in any convenient place but I saw in the Geno catalog that it should be mounted on the engine so they can vibrate together. That's where all this confusion got started. fj40dave I think that mounting on the brake master was a great idea. Thanks.

I mounted mine on the plastic cover for the Transmission, and Throttle linkage. It works perfect, and no erratic reading at all.
