Understanding my P7100

2001 Fuel Mileage

My numbers at the outlet port of the fuel filter canister were as follows:

70 mph - steady 6 psi
55 mph - 7-8 psi
Idle - 9 psi
Hammering it up the Dames Point Bridge -
3 psi running in fourth gear at 3000 rpm. This was as low as I saw. My wife called the numbers as I had to keep my eye on traffic. For those of you who live in the Jacksonville, Florida area, this is a pretty good climb, probably 6-7 % grade. It's the largest bridge of it's kind in the Northern Hemisphere. My inlet sender is bad and I'm waiting for the replacement to come in. Your opinions are appreciated. TIA

Hey John, have you drilled out your banjos yet? I would be willing to wager that your pressures would increase by 2 psi if they were drilled out. Check with "brandon" or "csutton7" to see what the status of the adapters they have coming in so that you can change your lines. Then you shouldn't have any problems at all.

John, It is worth the time to drill out your banjo bolts, before I drilled them 10psi at idle and 4-5psi WOT now with them drilled I get 14psi ilde and 10psi WOT.

Hi guys
Do you guys leave your fuel pressure
gauges installed all the time? or just when your testing. I read some were that you shouldn,t. Just wondering.

john that pressure is fine , new testing will be done in the next few days with a FLOW meter , not being a fluid dynamics engineer and getting caught up in the MORE IS BETTER philosphy i was taught a new to new way of looking at fuel pressure , psi is created by a restriction to flow .

as long as it ain't pulling a vaccum you have fuel , the excess is going back to the tank , if you have to much resistance to flow , ie: higher pressure , you will be taxing the the pump and heating the fuel up while its trying to figure out where to go , we are looking at increasing the wrong line in size .

the stock system as designed by DC for a stock engine is perfect , except for pump placement , and thats done because the pump is to loud when its running to be under your butt .

No, I haven't. I need to get on that bandwagon. I've been swamped with lot of projects lately. That one fell by the wayside. I'll contact those guys after I talk to Mopar-muscle. I committed to getting his and then kind of dropped the ball #ad
