I am wondering if my lift pump is going out little by little. I'm noticing less smoke, although the power still seems to be there. Warmer temperatures should increase smoke shouldn't they??? Anyway, the fuel pressure at idle is fine, 22 PSI. 2000 RPM no load it's like 26. But here's my real question, I was wondering what is acceptable for it to be pulled down to at WOT. I can get it down to about 12-13 PSI if I lug it at WOT. Now that doesn't sound too awful bad to me, but I'm not sure if thats still acceptable or not. I just replaced my overflow valve because it was 10 PSI at idle and 18-20 at 2000 RPM. Fuel filter is new and I replaced the prefilter recently.

Thanks,

Matt

my lp was gone, it would idle at 20 or so but would drop down in the teens when i revved it and i could pull it down to around 14, it seemed to run good and pulled 248 hp at a dyno event but it got more peppy and smokey with a fresh pump, it still idles at 20 but goes up as soon as i step on it instead of down and my home made/repaired of valve holds it at 30, unless i try to lug it below idle it pretty much stays above 20 at all times. i think the check valves in the pump are just worn and don't hold back as good as they should and bleed off some pressure

Matthug you have a bad lift pump. I have new released Fass pumps set up for your truck and also Fass fuel systems complete. I think it woud be a nice fit on your truck. Thanks 1-800-955-0476

Not really interested in a FASS, just wanted to know if my lift pump was going out as I suspected. I have had a replacement standing buy for a couple months so one of these days I'll just put it in.
