I was just driving normally at 30mph and my fuel gauge plumits to 0 and the truck would hardly run. So I turned into a parking lot and before I stopped to turn it off the gauge went back up to normal. My gauge usually flickers up and down very quickly but after the episode the gauge was normal (no flickering).
I headed out again to try to get home and 1/2 mile down the road it does it again exept it sputters worse. And this time it would not start up. So I keep turning the key over and I hear my pusher pump turning on but it sounds dry. The truck finally got pressure again with me turning the key over but the p-pump kept buzzing and finally stopped.
On the way home I stopped and got some diesel thinking it got some bad diesel. I got home finally and the truck built pressure normally all the way home. When I got there I turned it off and on and it started up normal.
What do yall think is wrong with the truck? The original lift pump has been out for awhile now. At idle the fuel gauge reads 26lbs, at cruise it is around 23-24lbs and at WOT I can't get it below 15lbs.
I need the help bad.
