How will I know if I have enough fuel to supply this increase? Will the cp3 run dry and lock up. What happens if I run out of fuel, missing sputtering?? Going to install this soon, timing and duration not pressure. Im just wondering how it is you guys know when to upgrade to an additional or bigger ousher?? i. e FASS ???? What tells you its time to get more fuel supply. Remember Im new to the upgrades not new to the diesel. Just finally upgrading one :)

You should get a fuel rail pressure gauge and a low pressure fuel pressure gauge to know for sure. Most trucks exhibit a poping/missfire condition when the CP3 starts to run dry and rail pressures drop to around 12K under a heavy load.

Is it possible to experience that with 130 horse box, timing duration style???

What good is it to monitor fuel pressure if you cant do anything about it, like increase it on the fly? You either have it or you dont. Thinkind about installing an Fass just not sure if I need a 95 or 150 gph.

It should be "oK"

SJ2500, it should be "oK" if you have the 05'. You have a in tank lift pump and average pressure is 8-10psi. I'm running BBD crazy larry, stage 3 injectors, sp62 turbo and my stock pressure handles in fine.

Thanks HeberRam good to know. Ill prob. be good then as Ive got a ways to go to catch up with your mods. Its fun waiting to get there though.

As SP Diesel said the only way to know if you have enough fuel is the low pressure gauge and a rail gauge. If the low pressure drops under 5-6 psi you have a flow problem, if the rail gauge drops under 23k WOTthe rail is running dry. Yes, a 130 HP box is into the danger zone on fuel delivery problems. The only way to know for sure is gauges. Compared to a new CP3 out of your pocket they are cheap.

Wher do you install these guages, i. e. port location for each? How difficult? I dont want to disturb anything that is high pressure. Air in system etc. Do you run both guages into cab with isolaters and the related. 2 fuel pressure guages with isolaters arent cheap either. I assume these need mounted in cab as you could not check WOT jus sittin in driveway with hood up. Why do soooo many guys on here have the Edge juice, Hot juice etc. with no fuel pressure guages or any additional fuel supply? I realize like the TSTPMCR would need additional fuel flow and maybe the BD Ram X-Power Plus at a 180 horse!! Explain Im just pickkin your brains. Ill probably only run this on the 75-100 horse settings anyway..... Smokin Joe

The high pressure rail gauge will need to read the factory sensor unless you can source a setup that will allow tapping into a port for a different sensor. SPA is supposed to have a gauge to read off the factory sensor but have not got a firm answer on it or price. The other option is a programmer with that has a rail pressure read out.

The low pressure is fairly easy and inexpensive to get. I use the Isspro for no reason other than preference. I got the banjo bolt kit and am tapping for pressure to the isolator at the CP3. There is another option with a tapped fuel filter lid that would work as well.

FWIW, everything I have been able to find out tells me there is barely enough fuel for the stock power levels. Even a 50 HP box could cause issues. The problem is the extra power is usually never enough. That 50 feels so good 90 has to be better and the 130, woo hoo!!! ;) I have no restraint! If I have the power its gonna find its way to the ground. :-laf

What ever you decide good luck. :)

i have an 05 and i could run the rail dry with just the crazy larry. that was before the fass and injectors, also before the new 2. 7 flash for the bullydog. once i downloaded the new program i have not been able to run the rail dry since. i just installed the stage 3 injectors and fass over the weekend. wow :D

Well gonna call FASS cant decide if I need 95gph or 150gph??? Im sure they will know. Just have to throw more money at it. Thats all Ive done lately. How much is an FASS kit???
