I did a bunch of maintenance on the truck this weekend, which included changing the fuel filter (I do so every other oil change, oil 5K/Fuel filter 10K) Always use Fleetguard but this was the first time I used the new style filter(FS19598) with the black top and lot smaller than the old style one(FS19528). Now whith the new filter my fuel pressure (post filter) dropped about 3 psi.

I know my lift pump is the way out and will be replaced in the near future but I was wondering if anybody had the same thing happen with the new fuel filters or is it just coincidence?

I can't say I dropped 3psi....

but I did notice more of a drop (1/2-1psi old style... vs... 1lb-2 1/2psi new style) in fuel pressure from a full tank to an almost empty one. I have a modified system... ... Long story, if intrested PM me.

I did not notice any difference between the old style and the new style, 11 1/2 psi all the time since I replaced the lift pump last year and It will only pull down to 8 at WOT no matter how high I turn the box up. It could be because of my modified banjo bolts or the revised lift pump from cummins (at that time) but the pressures never vary.
