HI all I replaced my lift pump again last one was 14000 miles ago. and this one reads 13. 5 when idling, the last one was at 14. 5. Is this okay? also my fuel pressure gauge has been making funny noises and someone told me to put a needle valve in it but I guess I don't know what that is. Its like its vibrating in side the gauge

One more ? I can't find Kyle's phone number at extreme diesel does anyone know his website or phone #

Thanks for any info you can give me

how is your fuel pressure under load. As long as it never goes below 8 at full throttle you are o. k.

A needle valve is just a regular valve usually with a t-handle top. It will most likely have pipe thread ends on it. Most hardware stores will have them. I had to go to a regular old hardware store to get my 1/8" NPT needle valve. Home Depot didn't have one that small.

When you put it in, close it 98%. it will stop the vibrating noise.

That vibrating will kill your gauge eventually.

Thanks,

Jason

911Ram,

How is your gauge hooked up now? Where is it tied in? Do you have a grease gun hose in your setup?

Here is how mine is done. I have a grease gun hose (1/8" npt) off of my fuel line and a coupler to attach to the needle valve at 1/8" npt. Then from there i have a 1/8" npt to compression fitting to go to the tubing.

Thanks,

Jason

Oil Burner. the pressure under load pulls down to 7 with the box off and I have not yet tried with the box on 5*5. I checked and mine does have a needle valve. I closed it and then opened it a little and the noise is less but still there. the braided hose comes out of the bottom of the fuel filter housing and then straight to the cab.

Augie thanks for kyle's web site

911,

Close it just a little more. Mine is very sensitive and there is a thin line between the gauge being unresponsive, and vibration. Don't be afraid to keep adjusting it.

I was going to ask if you were sure it wasn't your boost gauge rattling, but if it is getting better as you close the needle valve, its probably your fuel press. gauge.

Thanks,

Jason
