Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) fuel pressure?

My isspro fp gauge statred buzzing. It only buzzs around 13-11 psi driving me nutts!! Is it the gauge or the isolator? Any help would be appreciated.

throw that junk isolator in the trash. go to genosgarage.com and get a snubber. inset the snubber where the isolator was

I'm on my second or third isolator and the needle jumps around occasionally. I found the "snubber", AUTO METER FUEL PRESSURE SNUBBER-Dodge Cummins Diesel Truck Accessories – Geno’s Garage, but it doesn't say that it is a rerplacement for the isolator. It says:



"An Auto Meter Fuel Pressure Snubber required for installation of 30 psi Fuel Pressure gauges on '98-'02 Dodge Cummins Diesel trucks.



The Fuel Pressure Snubber protects sending units from excessive pressure spikes during start up. 1/8" NPT Male to 1/8" NPT Female.

isolator seperates the fuel from the antifreeze. A must have!

the snubber goes on the guage to stop needle bounce. optional.



I had a sticky snubber so I removed it, NO problems. Besides hearing the 3 sec prime I see the needle do a quick jump. That jump is what stoped along with a very slow to come up to pressure.



I don't know if 50/50 or straight antifreeze is best.

To update yall on my problem. I started to have slight decrees in pressure also. I discover that my line from the gauge to the isolator had a leek and I had lost some of the antifreeze. When I removed the gauge from the line I had a lot of bubbles in the line. I repalced the line, I refilled the line, fuel pressure returned to normal and no more buzzing. I think the bubbles were causing cavitations in the gauge and that’s were the buzzing came from. I also agree that the isolator is a must have I do not want fuel in my cab. I am a full time firefighter for the city of Kerrville TX and have seen what happens in a wreck when an electric fuel pump doesn’t cut off. Thanks
