I own a 2001, 24V with an auto trans. I recently installed a Diprocol fuel pressure guage. Diprocol offers two guages, both have their advantages. I chose the 0-50 PSI version, since it was an easier install, the sender mounts directly on the low pressure line on the block. The other was a 0-30 PSI, but required running an additional fuel line to supply the sender, which I was told should be located within the cab. Here is my problem, my readings at idle are about 4-5 PSI, and under a load it drops a couple of more PSI. The truck appears to run fine, and I have not noticed any drop in performance. What readings should I expect under a load and at idle. Will a 0-50PSI guage work in this application, or is its range to large to accurately measure low pressure readings? Is my lift pump suspect?

Readings

Your pressures should only be at best 16 psi at idle, could be the gauge does not show that accurate. Mine runs about 15 at idle and 12 at WOT. I have an electric sender with the gauge in truck. I can check pre filter and post filter by flicking the switch.
