Finally, #2 went down here in Albuquerque. . . well, only 3 cents, but that is a good beginning. At the same Love's, I paid $2. 279 on 4/4 and today (4/22) it was $2. 249.

Was in Benicia (north bay area) this week and saw Diesel at a cut rate Arco station for $2. 89. Seems to still be going up in this area. :(

wow. havent seen an arco since i moved from phoenix. diesel was up around 2. 45 in the last two weeks. i payed 2. 24 yesterday when i filled up. hophially its on its way down... . wayyy down :-laf

Price of crude dipped a few days - but has been on a serious return in the increase column for the last 4 days - hope you guys were able to fill up on that short term lower price...

Has remained the same here this week, guess thats a bonus seeing as how it has not gone up. 2. 559 a gallon around the corner from me.

Question for you Joe. Do you get better mileage with Chevron or Texaco then Love's? I always did on my 95. Don't know on the 05 because I haven't used Love's. I been getting my diesel at the Phillip on Alameda just west of I-25 or the Chevron on Candeliria and Edith. Grizzly, (Rio Grande and Alameda)

Ours went up about . 10 to $. 15 a gallon here in about a day. Irritating since gas dropped to below $2. 00 a gallon for regular. I save a little on gas for my equipment(Lawn care business) and pay the difference on diesel for my truck.

Griz, I haven't tried other stations here. I gravitate toward truck stops because the fuel is fresh and usually they change the filters regularly. Knowing of other stations and their prices in this area would be nice, though. Thing is, with 130 gal. capacity, I don't buy fuel real often, but I approach bankruptcy when I do.

Stan:

Help should be on the way, here in Sacramento #2 went from 2. 69 to 2. 41 in the past 10 days, the Shell in Fairfield at I80 and Green Valley Rd is still holding on to 2. 99 a gallon, even though the refinery is less than 20 miles away

on a personal note... .

will be checking in on your Aunt Vollie this week.....

Jake,

Tell her I said hello and will stop by again one of these days to seee how things are going.

As far as the fuel price goes, I think we are going to see higher prices in the bay area over next few months and the reason given will be one of the big refiners in the bay area will not be producing any Diesel for a while. Was in the refinery last week doing an inspection and this came up. I hope the source was wrong!

Always seem to be the highest price the closest I am to the refineries!

Paid 2. 05 at the Flying J on Morgan Rd in OKC last Sunday. Filled up in Amarillo last night----cost me 2. 22. Makes me wish I had a 500 gallon tank in the back. Had to prepay for the first time. She asked " What do you want to leave, an arm or a leg", as I handed her my credit card. :-laf

I usually monitor the Flying J website to follow diesel prices across the country and places I plan to travel by - their prices dropped a bit when crude dropped a week or so ago. and then quickly slid back up to where it was when crude hit $55 a barrel once again...

Might as well get used to it - it will only get higher as vacation time draws near, and probably won't drop significantly once it's past...

diesel fuel--$2. 21

gasoline--$1. 97

I know we here all kinds of crazy rumors, but I had a Toyota exec tell me yesterday that he was all but certain Toyota has junked their plans for an HD diesel truck. The reasoning was because they had seen so many studies on how it is being predicted that diesel fuel prices will be higher than gas for the most part from now on (with LSD on the way), so they have opted to go with what he said would likely be a 5. 6L V8 hybrid. . I'm not saying it's true, but I thought that was discouraging news for diesel lovers if it turns out to be that way. .

Up, Down, & back Up here

Last 2 fillups were at $1. 97 and $1. 98 (around 60 gal. each time), so that was great compared to the previous $2. 15+. Now it's back up to $2. 12. I usually use Flying J's or other truck stops.

Check this article about the Jeep Liberty diesel: http://www.dailypress.com/features/...coll=dp-features-cyberlife&ctrack=1&cset=true

It was in today's paper here, but may have also appeared in other papers as "syndication" column.
