Interesting 6.0 L power stroke article

WOW I Witnessed a PSD Death (Locked up)

One of the reasons it goes in winter is people burn it in there heating furnace.

I've alway though that we should suck the arabs dry of oil first. Becaues if are country goes dry first. Then they will have all the power in the world. At least something to think about.

I was on another Dodge board yesterday and someone had the same idea except for one important difference. Their "facts" were that Shell imported almost nothing from the middle east and they were suggesting boycotting everyone except Shell.

BP, Conoco, and Citgo were on their list of importers while your data says they import nothing.

As it turns out, they only had half the facts. I still feel we only have half the facts. If we boycott these particular name brand stations how are we to ensure the non-name-brand stations we go to haven't bought their fuel from one of the same major refineries? I'm not boycotting anyone without all the facts in hand first.

One more thing to think about: If we all switch to Hess, for instance, because they don't import anything (we'll just assume that for the sake of argument) then they will need more fuel than they have the capacity to produce. Their production capabilities would be overwhelmed. Either their price would spike sky high or they would purchase fuel from one of the other guys and the "boycott" would be a bust.

Major companies that import Middle Eastern oil (for the period 9/1/00-8/31/01).

Shell... ... ... ... ... . 205,742,000 barrels

Chevron/Texaco... ... . 144,332,000 barrels

Exxon /Mobil... ... ... 130,082,000 barrels

Marathon... ... ... ... . 117,740,000 barrels

Amoco... ... ... ... ... . 62,231,000 barrels

If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION!

Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil: Citgo 0 barrels Sunoco 0 barrels Conoco 0 barrels Sinclair 0 barrels BP/Phillips 0 barrels Hess 0 barrels

All of this information is available from

Hmmm, so howcome the local Texaco-just-turned-Shell station is selling Diesel for $1. 29, and half a mile down the road the Conoco station is selling diesel for $1. 57

Seems the Saudi oil is cheaper...

Fuel Prices

I filled up today at the Texaco Station in Norwood MA. @$1. 45 gallon. 26. 62 Gallons. 2 years ago here in the Boston area during the winter I remember paying $2. 49 per gallon at the Texaco Station on Huntington Ave in Downtown Boston. I think there is about 45 cents a gallon (state & fed) excise tax here in MA. I know that fuel co's have been hit with rediculous environmental costs but for all the fuel they sell fuel should be a lot cheaper(imho)

Alaska Prices

The price in Fairbanks AK. $1. 55 Price in Valdez AK $1. 95 Alaska produces 25% of US oil. Why the high prices in Alaska. Home heating fuel $1. 27. Winter has set in 4 inches of snow and counting.

Hmmmm, I say boycott domestic oil until we hear a giant sucking sound from the middle east, then show how much we love 'em and come home.

Or maybe topple Iraq and start pumping some $8. 00 a barrel oil home! Nation building is expensive... . I need lots of stuff!

(Of course our bureaucrats that we send there will set up a provisional government and run it by siding with OPEC to sell US oil for $30 a barrel!!! Most of our ambassadors are foreign hacks with US citizenship who don't like us, only our money and penchant for funding big homes and exhorbitant salaries in foreign countries like Yemen!) (Easy now, back off, back off, whew!)

When they have no oil left to sell they will see how many friends they have:D

Just My Opinion

That Texaco on Huntington Avenue must be the one that it across the street from Wentworth Institute of Technology. I remeber when I was there going to school that station always seemed to be the most expensive around. I haven't driven by there in a few years but it sounds like things haven't changed. I have never seen prices that high even in the great taxed state of CT.

FUEL PRICES

Filled up my dump truck today... $1. 53/gal. Imagine having to buy 50-100 gal per day ! :{ Oh well, diesel is still cheaper than bottled water... :p :-laf

Reason to move?

I read that diesel goes for 4¢ and gas for 6¢ USD a gallon in Iraq, no credit cards though. Maybe Iraq should be our 51st state.

How much did 9/11 cost he tax payers again? 14 out of 19 scumbags were Saudies. 28c differance X 30 gallons = 8. 70$ Let's send out boys over there, as long has fuel is cheap that's OK.

I'll look into this and if I can keep my $$$ from going to people that are responsible for and trying to kill us, even if I have to spend more, I sure as hell will do it! If 9/11 didn't wake us up what will?

Sorry but this just struck a nerve, feel better now.

Every nation has it's scumbags

People tend to forget that the Saudis supplied free fuel for Desert Storm & Shield, estimated at 3 million dollars per day...

Just don't forget that the Middle Eastern people are not all the same people. There are different countries and some are better than others. Some may be linked by religion but most don't share the same radical beliefs that others do. Don't condemn an entire geographical region for the actions of some of it's inhabitants.

This last week I drove my old car instead of the truck cause it gets better mpg than the truck... but not near as much fun to drive, except for the fact that the car is a 1988 Taurus with 198,750 miles on it and doesn't use any oil (it's been a great car!! It got me my TRUCK!!) and I'd like to see it roll over to 200k on it. Anyway, just figured it out that if the car gets 22mpg average while the truck get 17 mpg (yes, I've watched it before and it is close to this with some highway driving) it comes out to be only $12 that I'm saving by driving the car withing one fill-up of the truck... now with winter on the way, I'm sure the mpg on the truck is going to decrease, but heck... $12 to $20 per fillup on the truck is not really worth it... I spend that (use to) on Diet Dew during a couple of weeks... but it really does stink that the prices are going up and up and I don't think there is chance till next spring for it going down either!
