Gas Prices

I'm kinda surprised that what with the skyrocketing prices no one has mentioned any of the web sites that track local area gas and diesel prices daily. They just added the diesel tracking a few weeks ago.

Up here in Alaska, it's

http://www.AlaskaGasPrices.com

http://www.AnchorageGasPrices.com

Elsewhere

http://www.CaliforniaGasPrices.com

http://www.TexasGasPrices.com

. . which also have links to more specific metropolitan areas

etc.

The most direct thing I feel that I can do TODAY, besides driving something with better gas mileage, is to "vote with my wallet" and buy from the cheapest local station, and sites like this give me the information on what stations to avoid with minimal research time.

I'm guessing that the stations with the peak prices depend on impulse buys and lack of information to make their sales. After all, would you pay $2. 49 if you actually knew that the station two blocks away was $2. 35? Now if only I had one of those 100 aux tanks... .

The cheapest place for diesel, in the Tacoma area, is The Flying J. They are a truckstop, and cycle through enough diesel that the represent the going rate. Sometimes you can look at their site, see that the price is going up, and get you gas at a local station before they get a new shipment of diesel. Flying J's web site:

unfourtunate NY is not any better with fuel prices 2. 37 a gallon. But there are a few thing s you can do did you get a TSB to have a reflash done on your ECM? it will help you get a adittional 1 to 2 mpg and also installing a free flowing air filter? I installed a tornado in my 2003 RAM and it had good results. but know I have 2004. 5 laramie dually 4X4 HO Quad Cab and I will let you know with the results are in a few weeks with todays diesel prices you try to squeeze out every mile you can get the Stanadyne also helps a little too. Matt 3500 4X4 dually laramie QC Master Boss running boards Are cap MBRP dual exhaust Green Air Filter

It was $1. 91 for a few weeks, but it went up 8 cents in one day to $1. 99 in frozen, snow-buried Belle Mead, NJ. I watched the prices go higher during the day yesterday on the busy Rts 1-9 corridor adjacent to Newark Airport in anticipation of the Noreaster blizzard that has burried the NE Corridor with snow today.

Oil Co. greed will be the death of us all, LOL! We need a new Prez... Think Billlary Clinton can do a better job than Dubya? LOL!

wow, and i thought 2. 19 was high.

i get excited when i see it for 2. 09

thats here in PA

local place here is 2. 24 for full service, and place about 5miles is 2. 19, and down the road 2 more is 2. 14, and going other direction (north) about 10miles its 2. 09

At the stations on my route (Santa Clarita, CA to Burbank, CA) that consistantly have the best prices, here is what I'm seeing:

87: 2. 19

89: 2. 21

91: 2. 29

Diesel: 2. 27

About a month ago diesel was 1. 91 to 1. 99 and about 2 cents higher then 87 at most respectable places. The unrespectable places never went below 2. 25 and are now back to 2. 49 or more.
