If there HAS to be a bright side to high fuel $

So I go to the Local Flying J yesterday to fuel up for the week. IIRC I paid $3. 96/gal. Anyway, I go to the register for other stuff. The cashier rings me up and says something about how close I am to getting to the $0. 08/gal discount level on my rewards card. As it turns out, after spending <$50 in a month with your rewards card, you get this deep discount.

Well, I read the fine print in the new rewards structure (that they don't tell anyone about). As if high diesel and relatively low gas prices aren't enough, the gas rewards schedule has been modified as I noted above from $0. 02/gal to $0. 08/gal.

Now the insult:

The rewards discount for diesel went DOWN from $0. 015/gal to $0. 0125/gal for purchases of <$50. Good god! With the average price of gas these days being $0. 50 cheaper per gallon than diesel, GASSERS get the $0. 08/gal discount? Something is really wrong here.

The delivery of goods runs on diesel, and yet the gassers get the hefty discount while OTR drivers and the rest of us who drive diesel vehicles get ZIP? #@$%!#@$%!#@$%!#@$%!#@$%!#@$%!

Now to add insult to injury. I was listening today to a program on our local CH 4 Reno, NV tv, Nevada Newsmakers & they were talking about new taxes & they metioned that our wonderful feds are talking about a substantual road tax increase this fall or early next year. Where will it end, they also said that NV might try that also.

Diesel fuel price is 4.24 here today?

What the heck going on with diesel fuel prices. This is going to kill the nation. I put my diesel truck back in the garage and there it sits. I will drive the car as much as I can. This will cost jobs across the nation plus put more people in the poor house. Something has to be done to get this problem fixed. We were told that fuel prices were going there. What the answer to this?

Well Peee Bush told OPEC to increase production and LOWER the price per barrel. Because the U. S. was making more Ethanol and Bio-Diesel to REDUCE the need for Foreign oil. Well OPEC raised the price and talked of cutting production. Then they told Bush it was his fault for mismanaging our economy for the high fuel prices. So long story short OPEC is going to make the same amount of Profit no matter how little oil we buy from them. And our Oil company's are going to make a large profit too. I guess we will all be riding Scooters that run on Ethanol and Bio-Diesel. But how in the heck do you haul 40,000 pounds of goods on a Scooter?

In Oregon more and more Cities are adding there own Fuel tax most under . 05 cents a gallon. But in the county that I live in they want to add $1 dollar per thousand of value of my home to fix the roads and bridges. This is another way for them to get money without calling it a Gas Tax. This way it dosen't hurt at the pump every other week, just at the end of the year. OK, I,m done I,m going to get my 1967 Honda 90 out and ready to go!

Better save your dollars because we as a nation are just a breath away from a DEPPRESION. You wont be able to afford fuel at any price.

You do realize that electronic and internet petitions are for the most part useless?

Below is one of several Snopes articles on internet petitions...

So is voting for a change apparently. Nothing changes. But this is just a start of an idea.

Not to mention I can make a blog up and contradict every word in that blog with a blog to pointing out all her myths are in fact, myths... That site is very hypocritical, you believe a blog over a newspaper? Or news? (I actually don't believe both, media is a joke these days).

I just got an e-mail from a friend& I agrre w\ him. Just might help,IF we all stop buying from Exxon & Mobile for say a month. They might have to lower the price, then others MIGHT follow. WE cant simply not buy fuel. This is worth a try IF we can get enough people behind it. I WILL TRY UNTIL THE END OF APRIL!!!!
