just read in my copy of the fsm that the fuel pump prime lever is supposed to be in the down position for normal operation. i had assumed the lever sould be in the up position since it seems to lock in that position. also with it in the down position i can feel the diaphram or the internal lever moving,so which would be the correct position to run the fuel pump lever in?

IIRC there are at least 2 places in the FSM that address the lift pump lever and they contradict each other. I do believe that up is the correct stow position.

If you run the unit down a really rough road the lift pump lever will be in the half way position :) It does not seem to matter one way or the other.

RWWinslow, with 380000 showing in your sig. , im not going to worry about where the lever is anymore
Amen. . I run mine up, I have read both is correct though and have wondered about this myself. Glen

I havent read the FSM on this subject, but common sense would dictate that the UP position is the place to run it, since you prime by pushing it down.
