Well it took three trips to the dealer and several crawls the truck but I found it. I kept seeing a drip in the driveway but could not find the sauce. There is an electrical plug under the fuel pump that was wet, at first I thought it was oil but the high pressure fule pump is leaking and following the harness to the plug. Not dripping all the time. Dealer ordered one will have it replaced next week. I sujest you look close It is not easy to find cause if it is leaking you want it under warrenty Dealer price $3,000. 00. They are not too happy about sending out new pumps saying these pumps do not leak. Well this is the second one at my dealership. Oo. Ski

Mine had to be replaced. I was finding fuel on the connector/harness but the mechanic said it was the ball bearing looking thinks you see in the front part of the housing. My original dealer kept screwing me around saying that it was a Bosch problem they were trying to work out before replacing the pump. I took it to another dealer and they changed it out with no question and I haven't had a leak in 30,000 miles.

Oh there getting replaced here and there for leaks. Eaither on this site or DTR a member took his apart and fixed it for under $30 bucks. He said that its basicly differant metals and exspanion rates causing it. Matched up inner o rings with a same diameter but thicker and put it back togather and no more leaks. Said as long as its kept real clean there was not a lot to it and used no special tools.

I have a 2004. 5 CTD High Output. Leaking fuel injection pump, been replaced 4 times, had 5 total pumps, who knows how this last one will do. Same place, diesel fuel drops on ground, electrical connection under pump soaked with fuel. Sad thing is truck has only 41k, does anyone have any clue as to what the skinny is with these POS Bosch pumps, Dodge is as dumb as a box of rocks, their solution is to throw pumps at it, something else is wrong. Their answer is that I have bad luck, or the standard that nothing is wrong. Ok, am I nuts or is that a lame *** excuse!! What I really find amazing is that all these Dodge dealers are connected, through the wonderful star system (as Dodge calls it) and all of them have a different answer. They should get their act together, identify the problem, and perhaps call out a factory recall, one that matters, not one that is for a out of park alarm. Any ideas out there I am open to them, cause Dodge don't have a clue.
