fuel pump problems ??

Installed a 3200 gov. spring in my 91 intercooled 5. 9 and screwed up the shaft spline alignment and have adjusted it many times and got it close but the idle sticks high some times,and other times it is real low?if you raise the rpms slowly about 1/2 throttle it will start to run away,and some times will hang up momentarily at high speeds!! What the heck does one do in this situation?Also adjusted in the full fuel screw, and added pod injectors.

1st thing, back out the fuel screw about 1 turn. Then make your other adjust ments. It sounds like you have it in too far and it's on the edge of runaway.
