Fass or Airdog? Which one is better? Some of you might know about the trans problems i was talking about on here, but now i am being told by a local trans company to save my money on the trans. He thinks it if fuel delivery related. I am going to get it checked as soon as possible. For for know i am doing the research. Which is more recommended? Thanks for all the help guys!!

They are both pretty much about the same. The Air Dog tends to run a little cheaper than the FASS. However, the one difference between the two is that the FASS 150 series uses filters with a 1-14 UNS-2B threading where as the Air Dogs all use filters with a 3/4-16 UNF-2B threading. The big thing here is that the 1-14 threading is more common and allows you to use different brands of filters, i. e. Caterpillar, or other Fleetguard filters that may have better filtration. There was a thread that had a serious discussion about the effectiveness of fuel/water separators not too long ago and the threading was an issue. The FASS 150 series will be a bit more expensive. However, if fuel/water separation, as discussed in the thread above, is an issure for you then one of the FASS 150's is the way to go. Personally, I was originally going to go with an Air Dog 100, but after the discussions there I'm thinking about a FASS 150/95. I really only need the 95 gph fuel delivery, but with the 150 having the more standard threading, I like having the option of using different filters for better filtration. Also, Pure Flow just released the new Air Dog II and I do not know what the specs are for it as far as filter threading. My decision will really be based on what my tax refund looks like this year.



If this is not an issue, then I'd say go with an Air Dog. As I said it's a bit less expensive and I like the way the Air Dog mounts. The FASS mounting system requires drilling where as the Air Dog mounting system does not, making installation easier and quicker.

I have used and installed 4 FASS systems and have had excellent results. I use the 3 micron filters on the CR trucks. Instead of a drill I cut the holes with a plasma torch as it is quick and easy. The hardest part of the install is removing the stock fuel line from the top of the tank.

i run a fass 150 200 gph, and although i have had some issues with mine, they were always on top of getting me back up and running, also if you have a fass, your truck will still run even if the fuel pump is dead, at least you can still get home...
