Hi again gentleman and ladies I've been out for a while my old handle was w1964b well, I recently bought an 11 3500 QC/LB dually 40k on odometer and I also purchased a smarty for deletes in future. What I have is a fuel rail pressure low CEL checked with smarty after noticing and deleted but came back on within 6mi, what am I looking at? I had two 12valvers back when and am lost with this behemoth, truck runs good, starts good just that damn CEL which in turn doesn't let me experience the finer points of this Laramie. You guys were always my always in my corner, any thoughts?

What's the actual P0000, that is showing up? There probably are several that state low rp. Could be a number of reasons for the code, I am not that familiar with the 6.7, however on a 5.9, rail pressure relief valve, loose crossover tubes, CP3 injector pump itself could be acting up. You could have a very leaky injector(s) not connected to crossover tubes(not real likely) so watch oil level and check for fuel dilution of oil by dropping a drip of your crankcase oil on a clean napkin, if oil stays in place ok, if it starts to spread out rapidly you may have fuel in oil.

How are your injector feed lines, any leaks while running? Could also be a failing rail press sensor...

Smarty doesn't tell me code just what it is that's wrong, I must b doing something wrong with that too. I plug it in read what it says can I get an actual #s code?

Turn the key from the off to the on position without starting 3 times, the 3rd time leave it in the on position, the codes should show up in the odo window. It's quick, be ready with a pen, it will say "done" when all codes are displayed or if there are none.

Three times a charm key trick didn't work therefore I searched some more and found out 4th gen won't let you do it but I would think you could get a code instead of a generic answer from such an expensive "SMARTY"device , maybe you can and I haven't figured it out. Thanks anyway.

I just read a thread a few days back about a member with a brand new truck not able to read codes on the display, didn't realize the key trick didn't work on all 4th gens.

Got another low fuel rail pressure code 0192 truck does not have any of the usual suspected offshoot problems I have been reading on here ie: poor performance, knocking, no hard starting. Nothing out of the ordinary, runs awesome it just pops up when pulling 5ver and heavy throttle or just getting on it empty with peddle to pavement so now what? Just keep resetting code and not worry about it?

I haver put it to the mid setting which is I think 70hp elwith advanced timing, it did it, I have taken the smarty out of the equation completely, bone stock , did it also. I purchased truck w/39,000mi on it and it did it a week later. It seems not to matter what I've done with any thing on smarty or stock "0" setting same result , ask for available grunt.....pow!! Check engine light, low fuel rail pressure, still runs great no stumble, miss nothing just cel. I'm rolling coal but CEL rears it's ugly head. I don't beat the truck I drive pretty much like the oldan that I am, I can drive it for months no CEL then put the heel to it and bam CEL!!
