While installing new VP44 from Blue Chip I found the relief valve in the fuel return banjo bolt stuck in the open position for fuel to flow through it.I was unable to operate the ball by hand like it was frozen,I emailed Blue Chip about this issue with no answer! The truck runs fine good power should I replace this or not.

This is just an opinion...recommend replacing it. It is supposed to prevent the VP44 from draining. I used to have a 2002 3500, and had some hard starting...traced it down to this. Others may have different advice.

At one time they sent new over flow valves out with their reman pumps....if that is not the case anymore and you are using an old valve I would get a new one.Consider it cheap insurance for that expensive pump you just bought.
