Fuel return banjo bolt

Picked up two 6mmx1 banjo bolts, bosch pn 2433456034 from local diesel shop. These banjo bolts thread into the injector head and ?suppose? to have a hole near the head of the bolt for fuel to return into the fuel drain return/manifold. The bolts they gave me don't look the same as the ones I removed from my truck. Instead of having a hole near the head of the bolt, the threads of it are flattened on two sides, they say for fuel to escape/run past. They just don't look right. Anyone ever heard or seen these? He even took it to one of the techs and they said it was correct. Said it was an updated bolt. What ya think? Bill

The bolts you describe sound like the bleed screw/boltss. On our pumps the bleed screw threads into a banjo bolt on the side of the head, between the filter and the injection pump. That larger fitting holding the fuel line, has a bleeder which has part of it's tip milled flat. This is to allow some fuel to sneak up the shank to vent out when you do a bleed off. .

Other than that, I don't recognize the possible part you have.



If you want to compare, you can pull out the bleed screw on the truck and compare it to the one's you bought/got... .

It won't do no harm, and the truck should fire right up after you put it back in... . mine did...

Thanks Bob, it looks like it will work. The original banjo bolt has a hole all the way through it and another hole on the side for fuel to return to the drain manifold. The new bolt doesnt have a hole in the center of it. I threaded both into an injector and the flattened threads look like they will empty the fuel the same as the hole in the side. I would like more input if possible from others that have bought new bolts for this. Bill
