Please help if you can... .
I've just spent the last 2 days swapping out my old VE Inj. Pump / 12 Valve Cummins for a P-Pump powered 12 Valve in my First Gen. I was all excited when it was almost complete and ready to fire for the first time... . As we primed the system at the lift pump... . I had Fuel running thru the pump and out of the #1 Delivery Valve and the engine wouldn't fire. (I was told by local Cummins shop that you shouldn't be able to pump fuel thru the pump with the Lift Pump Primer)
The Local Diesel shop said it sounded like the Rack Spring internal of the pump was bad and needed to be removed and brought into the shop.
Can anyone help shed some light on what I might be dealing with here? I'm new to P-Pumps and totally in the dark at the moment. I've always been a Rotary Pumped First Gen Guy and was excited to be moving to a P-Pump
Thanks... . Tim
