My buddy just bought a 92 Club cab. He wants to know where the fuel screw is located. His truck smokes badly at WOT as he hits about 2k rpm. He wants to turn the fuel down.

Thanks guys,

Scramblin

On the pic I have posted it is the red cap to the inside of the pump. This is easyer to do than to try to explain.

You might want to ckeck the star wheel settings. If someone bottomed it out. You could back it off and stop some of the smoke. The star wheel is located under the round cap on top of thepump under the TPS bracket.

P. . S. I am probable the only person that still has that red cap on their truck in this forum. LOL

Because a lot of us have removed them to fiddle with the fuel settings. :D If your caps are gone, you know that the factory settings have probably been changed (which can be a good thing). The caps on mine were metal, and painted dark gray like the rest of the pump and engine.

That cap as well as the metal one on the top both fell off on the road some place!:D Funny thing was they both fell off at the same time! :)

Factory hash mark on the front housing is also about 3/8" low from the current setting.

Philip,

Thanks for the response. The truck is a 5 speed. So, the star wheel would be under the silver cap that is shown on the picture?:)

The star wheel is easy to get to. Just unhook that small boost line from the right side of the cap. Then remove the 4 screws. Three of them hold down the TPS. Lift the cap off. There is a rubber diaphram under it. This has the AFC pin you have seen some posts on about bombing. :D Just lift up the diaphram and set it a side. Then lift the spring up and set it a side. Now you can reset the star wheel. CCW makes less smoke.

Be carefull when you unhook that small boost line. It has two brass washers on it. Do not drop them.

You also want to mark the diaphram and install it back to the same position.
