My Fuel shut down Seleniod went up in smoke today. No one around here can get me a new one for two days. I work out of this truck and need it running . Will it hurt any thing if I run the fuel shutdown lever by hand while I wait for the new elec to come?

The worst part was having the truck towed home by a Powersmoke and then taking it apart and finding I could have gotten it to run and driven home.

no problem at all running with out..... just lift the lever on the pump and start it... to shut down you will have to pop the hood and push the lever down ... I did that for 6-7months  so I know I works... Jim

Jim,

If both coils in the solenoid are shot that won't work. It has a "pull on" and a "hold" coil. If the "pull on" is shot then if you hold the rod up and start it then it will keep it up. If both of them are shot it can be tied up and will work that way.

it will work if the solinoid is off the truck... I am not sure about if its still installed, but would think that if the wires are unpluged it would work the same as if it was not there... . I KNOW it will work with none, cause I had NO solinoid for many months!!. Jim
