Thurs I installed a new sending unit in my 95, I measured my fuel in the tank and had between 6 and 7 inches. I checked the gauge while I had the bed up by jumping the 2 center female plugs and it worked fine. When I put the module back it the tank it went to a half tank when the switch was turn on an remained on a half when the switch was turn off. I drove the truck 70 miles this morning and the gauge is still on nearly half tank. the only time it moves is coming to a stop it will move between a quarter and half and then go back to nearly a half. when cut it off it remains on nearly a half even when the switch is off. (Am I being paranoid or is this thing working). I marked it to make sure I put it back like it came out.

Tell me something

Did you hook up the new sending unit to the connector to check that it worked before you installed it in your tank? When you do that move the float from one extreme to the other. The gauge is slow reacting so you have to allow a little time for it to react to float movement. Also check that it will move through the gauge range by moving the float a little at a time to insure that the new sending unit is working properly.

Fuel sending unit

Joe I didn't even think about checking the send unit before I put it in the tank. Live an learn I guest. I will probably end up pulling it back out.

There are alignemnt marks on your fuel module. If you didnt align them it is possible your sending unit is contacting the tank and not moving freely.
