Hi Folks
I replaced the fuel level sending unit in my Ram, but discoved that the plastic inner housing that goes in the tank was loose from the metal outside housing that it attaches to (the plastic housing, which holds the sending unit, was sliding in the metal outer housing). I could'nt understand how that could in fact work correctly, so I tightened the screws until the two pieces were tight and didn't move relative to one another. The only problem is, now the gauge is stuck on 1/4 full.
Am I missing something or is the inner plastic piece actually supposed to slide inside the outside metal piece? I just don't understand how that could possibly work, but, hey, I'm not an engineer.
Any help would be appreciated.
Steve
