Changed my fuel shut-off solidoid and now it won't start. Turn the key, pull it up and it stays, start the motor, shut it down and it won't re-start. Set it to what TST specs but still nothing???

I take it you are manually lifting rod up.

So your pull up side(coil) is not working.

Check blue wire at battery and shut off solenoid relay, check relay, check connectors /wires.

If everything checks out put power to wire/pin that supplies power to pull up coil to see if it pulls up rod. Remember to ground the solenoid through the connector.

Right... I'm pulling it up as per TSTs directions. They say if you pull it up with the key ON and it stays your relay is fine... .

NOT SO! If it stays up that says nothing about your relay. The relay is only used to pull up the lever. After it is up the hold is connected directly to the ignition on circuit. The relay is necessary for pull up because that requires about 40 amps. Holding it up takes very little current so the ignition switch can handle it fine.

When you check the "blue wire" make sure you are getting voltage, not just a visual inspection. On my buddy's '95 the battery acid had eaten the wire inside the lug and even though it looked good, it was gone. The lug was just held on by the insulation. We skinned the wire and put on a new lug, problem solved!!

There is no blue wire. Black White Red to the solinoid and at the battery there is Red to the junction box and 2 Blacks to the heater relays... I'm going to switch the relay with a known good one today.

What year is your truck? If it's a '97 it may have a fuse in the PDC instead of a blue fuseable link. If it has a fuseable link it goes to a splice inside the wiring harness. The wire from the splice is black on my '95. It goes to the fuel solenoid relay. A wire goes from the relay to the fuel solenoid connector.

RELAY! Last time I listen to TSTs directions. I should have checked it first but my buddy just got one from TST and told me what his directions said. So I thought if the solinoid stayed up in the Run position the relay was good. Live and learn...
