Yes, real simple, the plunger will be fully up for fuel and down for no fuel. You got water under the boot and it is not working correctly. Manually put your fingure under it and pull it fully up. Hold it there by hand and have someone start it.

They last a long time usually. Mine is the original. Every now and then I have to remove it, clean the bore and plunger and reinstall it. 30 minutes. I haven't had a boot for over 300k

It may also be the blue wire to the positive post of the driver's side battery. Check that. It may be loose, corroded, or broken. That fix is free.

If you need a relay, make sure you get the 70 amp automotive relay. A 30 amp will work, but there is too much current for it in that circuit so it will eventually fail. You can get the proper relay here http://www.alliedelec.com/Search/Pr...N=R51-1D70-12&R=235-0510&sid=47422380327A617F for a lot less money than Dodge or Cummins wants for it.

Solenoid price?

Whats the going rate for these noewadays? Also, can someone explain the wires on the 3 wire plug... one side has a red wire in the middle and the solenoid end of the plug has it off to one side!

The wireing confusion and how to test the fuel solenoid is in my 12 fuel supply system write up. Email me at -- email address removed -- for the write up.

I believe Larry B (fostertruck.com) stocks them. He has other items you may one day need as well. Good luck. Mike

Manual shutoff

My son just finished his 24V P-pump conversion about a month ago.

During the time he was doing this I mentioned to him that while I was in the Army we had manual shutoffs on the multifuel 2. 5/5 ton trucks.

He liked the idea of a manual shutoff and built one.

It works very well and he didn't have to buy a solinoid, it is also sort of an anti-theft device too.
