Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Fuel solenoid problem

My fuel solenoid does Not activate when the temperature is low enough to heat the air in the manifold. It will hold and start and run if I reach in and pull it up manually. Everything works fine when the ambient temperature is high enough.
I recently replaced the solenoid and relay. ???

My truck is a 1996 with 289,000 miles and no modifications. I have been the only driver with very few problems.

Did you perform any voltage drop test yet?

Are you trying to start it while the intake heaters are on? That mite not be your problem because on my Mule have started the engine before while the heaters were on a few times accidently. Your starter relay in th pdc mite be acting up.

Thank you The voltage drop test led me to corroded battery cable clamps and need I say more.
