Hey Gang!:)

I know a few of you have done this already... . But, in detail, How did you go about replacing the wire terminals/connectors to the fuel solenoid?

I had one of mine fall off while driving back from So. Carolina last weekend and the engine just quit. That'll get your attention @ 70 MPH!

I guess it's time to finally do the maintenance.

wire replacements...

My wires were loose, but didn't come off. Did yours come off the solenoid or did the wires break off.

If they are still there, I just cleaned mine off with brake cleaner then crimped them a bit with wire cutters. pushed back on and they've been just fine.

I only tightened up the connector on the KSB solenoid and its still giving me trouble. I'm thinking of replacing the spade type terminal with an eyelet terminal held on directly by the screw.

I replaced the terminal on the fuel solenoid with another spade type but I'm going to relook at that too.

Thanks Guys!

My wires are in good condition... . The actual plastic on the terminals has aged and now the terminal retention to the solenoid is "Loose".

I've thought about replacing the terminals on all 3 wires w/ something more robust but don't what to use. I've already given the starter/ign terminal the 'crimp' method and backed it up w/ some stainless steel safety wire from my racing days. It's secure but doesn't look factory! :) Shall I give the other 2 the same treatment?

I was looking for a more proper fix this time!
