Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) fuel supply line

i need to replace my fuel supply line from the fuel tank to the lift pump on my 01 quad cab does any body have a part number ? i am trying to solve my hard start issue i replaced the fuel filter again and put a new o ring on the cap and that worked for about two days then the next day when i went to start it wouldnt when i cycle the lift pump i can here it suck air then start pumping fuel so it must have a small air leak some where. i have replaced the rubber lines from the lift pump to the fuel filter housing and the rubber line from the fule filter to the injection pump these fixes seem to work for about a day and then it bleeds off again and wont start

Okay hope this helps and makes sense I had the same problem but mine ended up being the fass pump. the line before the pump is your suction side and after the pump your pressure side if you had the smallest of leak on your pressure side you should be able to see it. I checked from the front to rear probley like you did I wiped down all fittings and hoses let dry and drove down a dusty dirt road to find leaks. dirt will stick to diesel. so I then figured I had a suction leak. I went to the local parts store got fuel line 3/8 ID this is what I replace to before. put the 3 1/2' section on from tank to fass and thats when I discovered my fass weep hole was leaking and the small prefilter I had prior to my fass was causing problems due to it dirty. So if you replace the hose check the quality of the hose so it doesnt cavitate and squish basically also is this happening when you get close to 1/4 of fuel or does this matter. I take it your lift pump is stock as well as the fuel system. your pump if stock could have drain back, basically causing prime loss. I upgraded my fass to the 150 and ditch the prefilter for now and I havent had a problem with loss prime. hope this helps what I experienced.

my problem is ocurs with even when the fuel tank is completly full i just put a brand new lift pump on from cummins after i took my autozone pump apart and then it took it back and got it warranty for a spare . since i have replaced the other rubber lines in the system i think it must be the supply line from the tank if i take the fuel filter out and put it back and bleed my injectors it will start fine as long as it dosent sit for longer than 12 hours so i think it has two be a very small air leak .

Well the only thing I can think of would be. I once put a fuel line clamp on your line between tank and pump this would possible tell you if you are getting drain back pinch it wait 12 hours take it off and see if it starts easier. but this was something I did due to my fass and were its located. is your fuel pump in the stock location and is all of you fuel lines been replaced with rubber. if so you could still try this and work your way back to the tank. what type of fittings are you using for your fuel lines push/barbed ends or using hose clamps ? well I wish you luck you find the fuel gremlin.

well i took it to the dealer and i couldnt get them to change the line so i am having a real shop put it on next week. guess we will see what happens

I'll bet for less than the cost of the stock parts, you can replace all your fuel line with new larger fuel line and high flow fittings from VulcanPerforance.com, they have 3/8" and 1/2" fuel line kits with pump relocation brackets and new in tank pick tubes (draw straws) that will help eliminate your problems.

thanks gary i already order the line from dodge wishing i would have gotten the pump relocation kit from genos/ vulcan now as they sent me the wrong ****ing line and i had to have them order another one#@$%! you would think with all of the wonderfull experinces ive had at the dealer i would learn to stay away but i thought they could handle a job this easy.
