2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission fuel system problem??

ive changed the fuel filter but i still have problems starting my dodge 99 2500. It will eventually start but it takes a while and the check engine light comes on when it doesnt start. are there any other filter or screens that should be changed/cleaned in the fuel system. Lift pump/injectors???

Whats the codes ifins you know what they are?? What does the truck have done to it?? need a little more info please

nothing has been done except cold air intake, i know the code now, P1689 (M) No Communication Between ECM And Injection Pump Module Data link circuit failure between ECM and fuel injection pump. Low power, engine derated, or engine stops.

is this just a bad wire connection?

Check fuel preassure at injector pump, sounds like it could be a lift pump issue.

I dont want to say this but the last one that had this probelm I delt with was a injection pump. But Id try resizein the pins on the injection pump connector. Might not be makein a good connection. There are some pinpoint test to run on that but uts alot of typein. See ifins anyone in your area has access to a online diagnostic source like Mitchell to git the pinpoint test from.
