A little off topic...

New to me truck. 86 chevy crew cab dually with cummins

Hey Guys,

Looking for a few idea's on how to upgrade my 1989 f-250's fuel system.

I have about 7 psi @ idle and with the new injectors I have I can drop it to ZERO :D

I would like to have a steady 15psi.

When I did my conversion I only removed the High pressure pump on the frame rail and ran the line to the lift pump. I still have the pumps in the tanks.

I would like to upgrade to 1/2" pick up's on both tanks But the tank selector is going to be a restriction. Can I get a high flow tanks selector valve?

After that I will add a high flow electric pump of some sorts.

Any and all input appreciated!

Thanks

Brenden

A little update.

I installed a holly blue pump that I had from another project and I now have 15. 5psi at idle and 7. 5 at full throttle. So even though it is better it still isn't enough flow.

Any one know what the in tank pumps flow?

Thanks

Brenden

The Dodge Cummins with VE pumps came with mechanical diaphragm lift pumps. For another application Cummins had an optional Low Flow piston lift pump, both types of lift pump work off the cam. Pressures in the range of 3-15 psi, not much more than that either or you'll push the VE's main shaft seal out and fill the crankcase up with fuel. Half inch is a good size, not sure on the selector, and I would use a regulator with return line also, not sure if that Blue has one.

So since the lift pump can't support the flow should I bypass it and make a block off plate?

I would like to get a constant 15 psi

Thanks For the reply
