Fuel tank/assy. swap

Hey members, anybody know what the price of a new stock tank with the complete in tank assembly cost? I changed my sending unit yesterday and to my horror discovered that the previous owner had somehow managed to totally screw up the internal assembly. The metal sleve that mounts around the assembly was just hanging there out of place, and the fuel filter screen housing was cracked. I had to put it back together because I have no other vehicle to drive to work but I am in constant despair thinking about all that dirty fuel that could be getting into my system. I just want to do a total swap of old parts for new that way I won't have to retrace the previous owners antics. Anyone did this lately? If so what pocketbook damage am I looking at? Do you know if MOPAR4Less would have what I need? I guess I should just give them a call. Thanks for any assistance.

Run an add in the classifieds. Lots of guys have installed other tanks and I'm sure the stock ones are for sale.

I would think yours could be repaired also.

The previous owner probably did not screw up this module. I have owned my truck since new (11 miles) and the metal bracket slide is toast on mine and has been since about 3 1/2 years old. The white metal is so poor that the three screws Dodge used for a sliding mechanism wore grooves into the metal.



I haven't had any problem with the pickup screen so I agreed, maybe the previous owner did muck this up.



I've been driving using the "500 mile odometer method" for fillup intervals for the last 3 years.



I believe the fuel modules are anywhere from 220 to 375, depending on when, where, who you talk to, and whether the parts guy is your uncle... ...



I'm wondering if the gasoline fuel tank module might work. Only difference that I have been able to determine is that the gasoline fuel tank module has a built in fuel pump which the diesel does not. Checked at a local salvage yard and they wanted 75.

He said that the pump and fuel module don't last on the gassers as well! If there was no demand for the fuel modules, he'd have hundreds of them. It's kind of like trying to find a used straight rear Dodge OEM bumper. Hard to find because they seem to bend if you look at them too hard!!!!
