Anyone out there have an idea as to how to hold up there fuel tank. I heard the bands were discontinued. Any ideas as for a different style of mounting or making of supports. Right now the option is a ratchet strap, or a chain.

Anyone out there sell them or make repos?

I made mine . The rear one was rusted almost thru, was gonna look for one til I got it out. I had a piece of flat stock the same thickness and a 1/4" wider. Put the old one on top, traced the notch that goes in the frame and cut it out. Then I made another short one to weld on (double thickness at frame ). Drilled the bolt hole, bent the band, and put it in. I think it took me a whole hour to do it! I didn't even unhook the tank, put a jack under, pulled the straps and twisted it a little. ;)

Hope this helps

I would double check on them being discontinued. I got a new one from a dealer it was around $50, I should have just made my own. This was in September. It all depends on how much you want to spend.

Bud, you didn't ask, you know by now that I can make anything. You want a lower structure mount with over the top strap like the big rigs? I can do that.

I have nothing to go by. When the truck was purchased, it had a chain wrapped around for a rear hanger. We would have to "engineer" something to work.

Might have to make our own, but with limited tools here, and the truck sitting only with the motor in it, will be a while before I could get it over there to make something for it. I dont know even how it is supposed to attach or where.
