Fuel tank change out

I need some help. I purchased a 60 gal tank from Aero tanks. I started the install tonight but I can't seem to get the electrical fitting off the stock tank. I'm a short guy and reaching the fitting through the fender well is a stretch. I removed the red keeper but can't free the fitting. I think I'm missing the secret. The fuel lines posed no challenge. Any help would be appreciated.

BTY 2006 3500 4x4 LB Quad cab.

When I did the vent mod I un-hooked the fuel lines and wires from the frame and lowered the tank then un-hooked the lines and connections.

Dave thanks for the help. Did you have trouble separating the electrical connection? I don't really think it's because I can't reach well.

do a search on the fuel tank vent mod on the TDR and they have great instructions on how to drop your tank with great photos.



I think if you find one of the other connectors that is the same in a more accesable location and take it off there you will find its not that hard.

After you have the red locking thingie out of the way you still need to press the tab on the fitting while you are pulling in the fitting just like the old fittings that did not have the locking thingie.
