Fuel Tank Cleaning

Whats the best way to clean the fuel tank out?? It has algea in it. .



Should I just steam it out? Im worried about not being able to get everything clean behind the baffle in the tank.

If it were me, I'd put in a couple gallons of bleach and water. That'll kill everything.

They sell a algea killer solution (auto part stores) that you would put in your tank. Drive your truck and change fuel filter several time or as the instructions state.

This algea solution will kill most bacteria in the fuel system but I don't remember what it is called.

I guess I will try the bleach and water and steam it out and then run a cleaner. .

I'm assuming the tank has been removed from the vehicle?

If you have the tank off,I would take it to a radiator shop have it done right...

When I got a load of gunk in my 06 I dropped the tank and it was very easy to clean. The fuel pump hole is very large and you can access most of the tank with your hand. I was able to wash out and wipe dry most of the tank.
