Hey guys,

This is directed at those that have had their sending units replaced because they aren't reading correctly. I'm having the same problem, I'll usually have almost 10gal in the tank when it reads empty. Now I know some people think this is best, but that works for them, I want to know how much fuel is in the tank, not what Dodge THINKS I should think is in the tank.

So, For those that have had the sending unit replaced because of this, was it under warranty or was it an out of pocket expense?

Also, I recall reading that there was a new sending that was replacing the stock one. I guess this one was adjusted to read correctly.

Thanks for any information!

Corey

I've never had mine replaced, but I believe it is covered under your 3/36 warranty. Of course if you've BOMB'ed the truck (designer fuel filler cap comes to mind :p) you may run into some problems.

John,

Thanks, Thats a good point. I haven't done anything other than the cab lights, BD Brake & full gauges. I'm sure they would figure something out.

Corey:

My fuel sending unit crapped out at 45K, beyond the 3/36 warranty. I have an excellent dealer, who went to bat for me, and got Chrysler to pay half of the bill. I don't remember how much it cost, but half was certainly better than all.
