Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel tank

I was filling my tank today, and there was fuel spilling from the top of the tank. I have been looking at the top of tank, and there is a 1/4" nozzle pointed to the right hand side of the truck with nothing on it. It looks to be the cause of my spill. Am I missing a stopper or breather? Can't find a diagram that shows the top of the tank.

That is the roll over valve that you are seeing. It is supposed to be open like that. Your leak sounds to be coming from the canister hold down nut. Mine was doing this everytime I filled it up. Try tightening the hold down because its most likely loose. Mine was loose enough to turn by hand.

Try not filling the entire expansion air space.

I have had the truck going on 4 yrs now, and I have filled it to the top of the filler tube quite often, it has never done that before. It looks like there is something, a rubber hose, that is missing.
