Fuel Throttle Position Sensor

I have a 1999 Deisel 24 valve. Sometimes at low speeds I lose power. When I let up on the gas pedel and push down twice, it resumes normal fuction. Mechanic told me I need a new Throttle Position Sensor. Is there any upgrades available? Since I going spending a lot of $, I want the best for my money. Any comments appreciated.

Welcome to the TDR

Now with that said. The forum you posted in is for the older trucks. We work in the 1989 to the 1993 model years. You needed to post in the 2nd generation/24 valve forum.

But I am sure that some of the later model owners will stumble across this post. A lot of them read in this section to.

I wish I knew the answer for you.

Larry,

I'd like to see you get a better response so I have moved this post to the 2nd Gen 24 Valve Forum.

I'm sure you'll get some good help there... .

I also was told that my throttle position sensor was going out or had went out, so I had a reflash done on the truck and it helped tremedously, just something you might want to try before setting down your satchel to buy that sensor.

You might try

a search on here for APPS or TPPS or TPS. I think the correct technical term on here that Dodge uses is APPS. I have seen many posts with regard to this, but I have not had any problems personally with this.

I think it is a unique Dodge part.
