Fuel Wasters

Just a thought. Drive up windows are fuel wasters. Just sitting there idleing, waiting to do business. Why not park the vehicle , turn off the engine and go inside meet the folks , maybe run into a friend.

Lots of times running inside is much faster than waiting in line at the drive-thru, too.

I think it is going to depend on how long the drive thru takes. Also you have to look at the additional wear of starting the engine back up.

I usually go in. I have to turn the truck off anyway so that I can hear the employee and vice versa. Usually just as fast or faster. Also, some of the newer drive thrus, especially the McD's doubles, the turns are really sharp and a pia to get around. I think the fuel wasted in line at the bank, the food place, idling at startup for 5 minutes is not worth it. Also traffic lights :-laf
