Chris, you're right but the reason "no codes from volumizer" is of interest in the "codes" discussion is because it is a timing box. timing boxes are notorious for setting a crank position code -- believed to be due to some buggy software in the ECM.
There have been four timing box attempts that I am aware of:
Bullydog was the first to market. their pressure/timing box was pulled from the market due to the codes issue. you can still get it, but you have to agree that you understand what it might do.
Edge is/was working on a duration/timing box, and they were hitting the same codes issue. They've gone silent now, presumedly so they don't set any expectations in the market. Who knows they may have gone back to the drawing board and persued some other technique entirely.
TST is currently on the market and some percentage of trucks are found to set the crank position code at random times with no correlation to driving or engine operating conditions.
Volumizer is a pressure/timing box (like the Bullydog) but I don't hear people setting codes with this one.
None of what I'm calling "pressure port" boxes out there set codes, because the don't do timing. Boxes like the Ramifier, EZ, Quadzilla...
the volumizer is made by PDQ.
