I'm running the Power Edge EZ, and I like it so far... my clutch doesn't though (getting that next week). I just had my DDIIIs installed this afternoon and I'm having the time of my life. I couldn't imagine a major fueling box in this thing, I don't know if I'll go that far though.

New Clutch?

So you're saying the stock clutch won't hold up to a EZ and injectors? I was thinking about trying out a EZ and some 275 injectors but I don't want to have to mess with my clutch yet.

Ray, I have a 99 with DD1's and EZ. No problem with clutch. Easy on with the power and I think no problem. However, I think your clutch and mine are slightly different. ;) SBurton, Diesel Dynamics had Edge build a version of their Timing/fueling module (it comes with an internal boost module) specifically for their injectors. That may be the best way to go as Lawrence seems to know what he is doing.

Ray,

I know Grandpappy is running a DD (reprogrammed EZ) box with DD1's and Okie is running an EZ with 275's. Both these guys (like me) pull 5th wheels, and both their trucks are ETH/DEE's. I'm assuming that I can get away with the EZ alone with no clutch problems, but I'm waiting to see how these other guys do clutchwise before I consider adding injectors to the EZ.

Ray, look at my . sig for my BOMBs. I had DD 3's & DD's TTPM (an EZ in disguise) and 4" Jardine exhaust all installed on same day, then put about 4000 miles on them with stock clutch. Now I don't tow, or haul much (other than hauling butt). When I got my new South Bend Clutch, after the mechanic removed the stock clutch, I looked carefully at it, and there wasn't the slightest sign of heat or wear on it. I did get on the go faster pedal a few times just to show off the new power :D I can't say how long the stock clutch would have held, and even if mine would have gone 50,000 miles with the DD 3's/TTPM, that doesn't mean yours would. My stock clutch never felt like it was slipping either.

So, take that for whatever it may be worth.

[subliminal mode engaged] You want more power... go with DD or Bully Dog stage 3's... 275's are NOT enough... ..... :D:D:D

Not me!

I put my DD3's and HX-40 in the second day that I had the truck and didn't notice any slipping. I then bought a blue box and the slipping was instant. I think that the EZ works well with that combo. I ran my PE COMP for a while but the clutch was slipping pretty bad. It just depends on if you want a new clutch or not.

I started out with a TST PM2 then PM2 Revb and the stock clutch held fine. Then I went to a PM3 Adj and anything over 6 is would slip at lower rpms. I ran this way for about 20k taking is relatively easy. Slowly but surely I had to keep backing the box down until I replaced the clutch. Now I have one of Joe D's clutches and pretty much figure I'll snap the crank before I slip the clutch :)
