my mods are in my sig, havent dyno'd. my transmission has less about 10k mi on it (stock rebuild) but it's not going to live long and my ? is,,, should i go with converter, valve body, comander or should i just suck it up and buy a fill billet race transmission??

am i going to break my pressure plate or input shaft with average street racing or 20 psi 4-wheel drive luanches?

the cost difference almost pays for a set of twins that i drasticly need

(o. k. want real bad) as i'm sick of 1650+ egt's.

I was told by one of the "big" ones that once the t/c locks in 2nd, it stays locked 2nd-3rd 3rd - 4th. is this true or B. S. ?? the stock one sure dont do that.

TIA

I personally would suck it up and save for the full built transmission. I have heard a few stories of people mixing and matching at local transmission shops and having nothing but problems. I would rather get a DTT or Suncoast and trade a built one for a stocker (core), less down time and less hassle

Depends, some input shafts seem to hold up to 20psi launches, some don't. I didn't want to have to worry about it so I shopped around and felt that I got the best service and value from Goerend transmissions.

I'm with zstroken. Goerend trannys are hard to beat. The transmission are built to order, and built in house, torque convertors, included.

Haven't ridden in a truck with an ATS or DTT transmission yet, but have heard good things about them, too.

I had the goerends VB & TQ installed in april, very happy so far. Dave Goerend is super guy to talk to and deal with. coobie :)

please feel free to p. m. me with pricing if you have a smokin deal. the prices i got were for billet input (was told suncoast dont have this) with billet plate from ats,bd, sun coast. ats was cheapest but have heard mixed reviews over the years. also had them price just t/c, v/b/ cont.

just trying to get the most for the $$.

does the converter stay locked or not ? no body has answered that ? yet? maybe one of the " big ones " will chime in.

well you have my price and that includes billit input and output and drums electronics, clutches, steels vb, triple disk billit convertor. ect--everything is race ready----- :-laf

the trucks that make the most power are using, ats, NADP, and suncoast. the last big dyno event showed that... ... .....

Wasn't that last big dyno event MM 06??

I thought the 03 dodge and the 06 dodge that put down 893 and like 848 had Goerend brother convertors and I think the 06 had a Goerend Brothers VB. Didn't they??

Summit- Do it right the first time and save yourself some money. We recently had 2 customers that wanted TC/VB upgrades but didnt want a billet flexplate or input shaft because of cost. One ened up shredding his flexplate and the other shattered his input shaft to the point that it tore up the pump and the converter. Both ended up losing in the long run. At the very least do a TC/VB/flexplate/input shaft. If you can swing it, get the intermediate shaft as well. The output is not tough to do if it ends up breaking like the others. Hope this info helps.
