I just changed the lube in both axles at 30k. This was the factory fill. Rear axle looked good but a little dirty. The front was a whole different story. It was green and foamy. The breather looks ok so any contamination probably did not come from there. What should I be or not be worrying about here?

Mine was white and foamy, rock had hit the 4WD actuator housing (cheap pot metal) on the passenger side axle and put a hole in it letting water in. Part was only $28 but it took four fluid changes to get the oil looking right again. Yours is under warranty let the dealer deal with it.

The more I hear/have seen about the looks of factory fill lubes, I think I would change everything first or second engine oil change.

I'm going to change mine at 60 - 80K mile range. I have the 100K warranty. If there is a problem Dodge can pay to fix it. If they call for no change based on my dirving, and this is not true, then they will pay the cost before my warranty is up. :D

Thanks for the replys. I am going to give it a little time with the Amsoil in there and see if it is looking abd. The front diff cover was not sealed very well. There was a little rust on the cover in spots that was across the whole sealing surface. That makes me think that there was moisture traveling between the cover and gasket that could have been going into the diff. We will see.
