I just recently discovered a plug in mounted to my "open hood" handle inside the cab. It's white female type and bolted to the handle bracket for the hood. Anyone know what this might be? THanks!!

Yeah I have one on my nonIC'd 89. No its not a tach plug as in the IC'd trucks. I say that as way back when I asked the same question, someone told me what it was, can't quite remember exactly what I was told, lol, but I know for sure its not for the tach. I'll do a search and get back to you.

Edit, I'm  and I love the TDR, here ya go:

I looked under my dash, and right next to, just to the right of the hood release, I found a plug. What could this plug in be for? Maybe the previous owner bought the tach package and before he sold the trk to me he kept the tach unit. This is two small drill holes on top of the dash about and inch or two apart, where maybe the tach was??? I wish I still had the previous owners #. .

Anyways could this plug in be for a tach? Thanks Bill

The plug you are talking about is the snow plow hook up, this is one of the plug hook up to use the factory wiring set up for the 89-early 91 trucks with non intercooler.
Oh and you got my money  :p .

Hey jaynes, Swankmetal and I came up w/ the hot ticket for a tach. Check the thread "wiring alternator for tach" by me. It tells how with pics and has a link to a tach for 20$. There are several tach's listed on the site, take your pick. FIRST GENNERS RULE! :D
