Off Roading going to the outer banks?

This is the best comment "Quote" "No chunks went through the turbo thank god.

Thats alright. I'd like to see a cummins stay together with 650+ hp on #2 as a daily driver and haul my enclosed trailer with bobcat and material and plow snow, everyday of the week, full jam power... ... ... ... and believe me, if anyone knows me, i drive it like i stole it, but i still respected my egts and maintenance... ... ... ... not gonna have too many cummins owners saying that, not unless there name is pinocchio

Those DuraCrap guys think they know everything. What an idiot, a Cummins with 650+ HP would easily stay together as an everyday driver. That is nothing for a 12v. :-laf

Joe

What a waste of a lunch hour. I did get the log-in setup and went thru all that thread. . Now I know why my wife nick named those trucks Maxi-Pads

Rick

So he parks the bobcat backwards and chokes on the fumes until he bails out?!?!

So what ACTUALLY happened to it that chunks went toward the turbo?!?!

Why do these guys have no respect for other motors??? I guess the younguns' (in any aspect) never have the respect they need.

Replied... .

Now I see where the 800hp post came from! lol!

Those guys just don't understand that they will NEVER get to the level that the ole Cummins can hit.

Funny thing is a real good buddy ofo mine has an 05 with injectors, TST, twins, FASS, and BDDL and he has to be well into the 500 range. Been like that since about 2K miles. Has like 12 on it now. And there are very few people ANYWHERE on ANY forum who match his load with his 1 ton. How about 30' tandem dual gooseneck loaded with drill bits and buckets and a big backhoe? And mind you, the truck is loaded with 100 gals of fuel in bed along with tool box and misc. drilling parts and tools. Total vehicle weight is like 38,800, truck, trailer, tractor, ect. Tows like a dreamwith the 3. 73's. I'd like to see this guys d-max hold up to that for half that milage! :-laf

Don't take this the wrong way, but your buddy's a retard. He may have the power to pull that load, but he doesn't have anywhere near the brakes to stop it...

Big Easy -

Your right on that accord to an extent. I think he needs a bigger truck, but the state of Cali****a doesn't. However, he does actually have the braking power to stop it. See, with Tandem Duals, he has the traction and with both axles haveing breaks and the trailer being designed for that size load, he is well set up. A bigger truck would be better, no doubt. However, he does this every day and it seems to him (who knows what wrecking with a tractor on a trailer is like) to be a smooth, safe combo. As long as he has the insurance, I don't argue with him. But my point for the post was that I would like to see dip sticks D-max hold up under that load. Just hold up, I don't dare ask it to get decent fuel mileage. One step at a time. When there is a D-max that can stand up tp that abuse, for over 11K miles, and still average around 10 pulling that load, then they MIGHT be worthy. Lets see em step up (yeah, right. Let me hold my breath!).

I think the real question should be, Will the Dura-??? still be runnin on the same engine it started with after 300,000 turn without a rebuild. My bet is he uses it up with abuse and will have to buy another one cause it won't hold together.

I like my little 6 banger as I know I will still be going strong at 500,000 without any major work. So now I can spend my money that I save by not having to buy another rig, on other investments and opportunities of choice. ;)
