Pulled in a parking lot the other morning, got out of the truck and started walking towards the building, when this ol' feller from across the street hollered over at me. He said, "Hey don't you think you ought to get a muffler for that thing," and then he started laughing. I started cracking up. You gotta love that sound!!

a doc that i work with came up to me the other day and asked me, "is that truck legal as loud as it is?" my first response,"huh?"

then he says it sounds like an 18-wheeler. told him if the 18- wheeler was legal, then so was my truck, but my truck wasn't

loud. walked away shaking his head...

My work truck(INT 4700) has the most god awful set of squeeky brakes on the plannet(35K truck with HYRDRAULIC brakes). Its hilarious to watch the windows roll up as I squeek to a stop. Today a lady was so mad looking I thought she was gonna yell at me. But to me with the AC on High, The radio blasting, and the fan engaged... I don't have squeeky brakes lol

PS Do not buy Performance Friction Brake Pads. They say SEMI METALLIC but I think they are more like cast iron. . or at least they sound and stop like it. I bet they last forever. If the guy that works on our trucks wasn't so cool. . he would be sh*ting PF brake pads right now

Well if you ever get your tank sugared, you wont have to look far for the culprits. I used to do burnouts in my TA in front of my old house. Then one day i had my tires slashed, guess my neighboors were trying to tell me something

When my buses brakes start squeeking, I tell the drivers not to worry about it. If they can hear them, they know they're working



Besides, anything that makes friction will make noise. Usually the human ear will not hear brake noise, but dogs can hear it! Why do dogs chase cars?



I have very bad hearing. If I can't hear it, it's not bad enough to fix

When i lived with my parents there was always a lady that would yell at me to slow down EVERY morning on my way to school... even though I wasn't speeding. . really I wasn't. I guess its because my car was LOUD not sure really. So I tested her one day, I drove my dads car to school and came by her house at 60... she never turned around. She was like 15 houses down and was the only nieghbor I had that didn't like my loud car. The close nieghbors never said a word... and I usualy pulled in from the drags at 3 or 4am.

I had a Police Officer pull up next to me at a stop light and asked if I had a volume control for that thing. Couple months later another one gave me a warning for "trying to sound like a diesel truck. " I said "Uhh, it IS a diesel truck. " He wasn't happy but he only gave me a warning.

Remember, when you are pulled over by the Police... . the officer is ALWAYS right. Yes officer, I am stupid officer, yes I understand the cost of rear tires officer. Another TDR member I know is kind of a smart*ss and always gets tickets when he gets pulled over lol. I have been lucky so far. Had a cop tell me "I didn't know these diesels could run like this"... I told him it was modified for trailer towing purposes only

One day I had a moron at work tell me my truck sounded awful!!!!!!! Told me it was probably the carberator (sp?). He said his old chevy knocked real bad like that and he gave me the business card to his mechanic. Three days later he asked me why I hadn't gotten it fixed yet. He also told me it was smoking bad too... ... ... .







Took him two weeks of asking before he figured out is was a diesel!! (Yes, unfortunately he still works for me)

Dkevdog, look at it this way. At least you don't work for him. I took my truck out last night after putting the lift pump on. My neighbor was taking his trash out so I stopped to talk to him. He says, Damn that thing is loud. I just smiled and said thanks for the compliment A diesel gets the attention of the right kind of women, too
