My truck starts so freakin fast that normaly i don't even hear the starter #ad
(just flick the key). But once in a blue moon, it takes more that one revolution to start, so I have to hold the key down for longer than . 5 seconds. Ok, well, a couple times now, it didn't start right off (once again just a flick of the key), so the starter just kicked and recoiled, like its supposed to. But when I tried it again, it cranked SOOO slow... like it had almost no batter power. It started like after 3 revolutions, and never does it unless It doesn't start right off with the flick of the ignition. Grid heaters aren't kicked in, cause its already warm. I'm not sure if this is a battery or starter problem, cause yesterday it was 15 deg. out and I wanted to see if it would start without the help of the toasters. Now thats a different story althogether, but the point is is that it cranked good and fast, and didn't loose any charge. Whats the deal here? I've talked about starter problems on here before. This is starting to happen routinely now. Don't know anymore. Thanks fellas.

Also I might add that I'm afraid that one of these times it isn't going to start, and I'm gonna be a dead beast in the parking lot. Don't think I could find a booster battery big enough to jump mine #ad

Since it does turn the engine when it is cold I would suspect the contacts in the starter solenoid or a bad cable or connection. If you have a bad connection it has to be generating a lot of heat, might try feeling the terminals at the batteries and the starter after this slow turning occurs, be careful and don't burn your fingers. bg

don't know about the "91" but I noticed that the "wait to start" light
didn't come on with mine, so after I start it, the coils begin to cycle on
and off. The book says if you turn ignition off then on again,
the heat relays start over again.

Perhaps yours is cycling on your second try leaving you will less
power to crank with.
Not sure here, but mine will cycle after starting without the
"wait to start" light coming on.

just a thought

Well, the only time I see my wait to start light is in the morning when its cold out. Otherwise, after it has been running, it doesn't come on, and the heaters don't cycle either. It will come on though if i've been driving in cold weather, and I turn it off at a drive thru, then right back on again, cause of the cold air that was brought in. I don't know, but it hasn't done it lately. Thanks for the input. I'll check those cable connects bg!
