changing out fuel line question

Has anyone put side pipes on their truck?

If you have been contemplating getting an Airdog, the price is going up by almost double on April 15 . New ownership at Ekstam is feeling the need for greed I guess  . Just wanted to give anyone a headsup that was considering it. I feel it's a marginally better product than the other (not putting the "other" down) :-{} that is barely worth paying the extra for now, but when you can buy 2 of the "other" for this one after april 15th... I don't think they will be selling many.

Has Ekstam given a Press Release on this or do you have some inside information? I'd like to read up on it a bit more. I also believe that the AirDog is a better product, but these guys are fooling themselves if they think that we're gonna pay $1,000 or more for one. I'm glad I got mine before all this starts.

A diesel shop that carries airdog first told me about it, said they got a letter saying all the current retailers were no longer retailers and that they would have to re apply to carry the airdog, they also said the price was going to double.

I called another shop told them what the last place told me, they knew nothing about it so I placed my order. The shop called me back in 10 minutes and said Ekstam was no longer offering them a dealer discount so he could charge me more so he can make a profit or I can order straight from Ekstam, however airdog was coming off their website after he got off the phone with me and said that with the new price being over 1k that they would no longer be carrying them.

Obviously some dealers have not been notified which is pretty lame, about as lame as their price increase.

i want the racor setup myself, but i need to find someone who has it [and i'd like to see more details on it than what the diesel progress mag had on it]

Sounds like this could be a quick end to the AirDog, which puts me off because those of us that have it are going to need filters and perhaps parts for it down the road. I wonder if I should try sending mine back before I install it?

I just noticed that Diesel Manor has taken it off their website, was that who you were referring to Dean? I ordered mine from there at the first of the year. I may need to call David over there and get the scoop on this thing.

Yes Diesel Manor is the second place I talked to. I just bought a few extra filters and im not worried about later as fleetguard has some that will work.

Heavy, how long ago did you get yours? It isnt the FP80 HP is it?

What are the Fleetguard filters that will work?

And yes, I believe that it is the FP80 that I have. David at Diesel Manor told me that Ekstam had tested it up to 500hp so I said that would be fine. I asked about a model with more fuel flow and he said that they had one initially but after seeing the test results of the FP80, they decided to discontinue the high flow model because they didn't see a need for it.

Do you know something I don't? Is the FP80 bad or something? As far as I know, that's all that's been officially offered to the public. There were some high flow models sent out to certain individuals for testing but weren't ever offered for sale I don't think.

I ordered mine right after Christmas - I've just been waiting for better weather to install it - I was actually contemplating doing it this weekend.

The FP80 is the one they offer, initially they offered the HP80 HP which was the higher flow, I think a few peaple got it. I was just wondering if you had ordered yours early enough to get the high flow, there's nothing wrong with the FP80.

AirDog Filters

Does anyone know which Fleetguard filters will work on the AirDog. Im glad I bought mine when I did. I was even thinking of buying an extra pump. Love it so far. Pressure

doesnt drop like it did with the stock LP. I was lucky I only

had to replace one stock lift pump. Does any one know if there is anyway to test the injection pump. I keep hearing that there are no symptons. It just dies

Thanks In Advance

Mike

After all the B. S. that Airdog and Fass have written in the past about each other it comes to this. Now watch Fass offer replacement parts for the Airdog. That should just about be enough to make someone go postal.

Here's a link to the website, http://www.ekstamworldwide.com/index.asp, I called them and the company has changed ownership but the gal I talked to said they were going to continue to sell the air dog as well as supply filters and parts for these systems, they will also honor warranties from previously purchased pumps.

I wasn't doubting the fact that they would continue to sell parts and filters as long as the system was made, but rather that they would stop selling them when they have to discontinue the AirDog because no one's buying them for $1000 or more. If the product has to be taken off the shelves, I really doubt that they'll continue to make filters and replacement parts for them. That's all I was worried about. And I truly believe that this system will fail if they jack the price up that much compared to the FASS.

They've already lost one of the only retailers that sell this product, and maybe it was the only one. It was the only online site that advertised having the product anyway, and most people on here have ordered directly from the factory.

What do you guys think? I'm interested in this and would like to hear some other opinions.

The more I think about an AirDog price increase, the more I would expect a price increase of a similar amount from the competition! AirDog might be the 'market leader' and the others will follow for sure.
